Come along and learn about DNA

On one Monday each month, I host an evening at my place about DNA

Come along if you are curious about DNA. At the very informal gathering I share some of the useful stuff for you that I’ve learnt over the past couple of years immersed in the world of DNA. You’ll learn about what DNA can tell about your health risk predispositions, what it can reveal about your potential pharmaceutical drug side effects, what it can tell you about who your relatives are and whether it can tell you about intelligence and personality (a little bit, yes, is the answer). It will also help you navigate the bewildering array of DNA tests that are out there.

Feel free to invite a friend.

You’ll learn a lot that’s useful to you.

Learn about what DNA test to take

What DNA can tell you about drugs you that might give you side effects

Can DNA tell you about personality and intelligence?

What can it tell you about disease risks, diet and fitness?

The evening starts at 6.30pm with a drink. And finishes by 8.30pm. It’s not boring. There’s even music.

Convenient location next to the Southbank Centre (i.e. Waterloo and Embankment). Yes, I live very centrally this year.

The next one is on Monday 24 July.

I had no idea that was how DNA was sequenced and which tests to consider. Now I do.

“I had no idea I had a genetic predisposition to macular degeneration. Although there’s no cure yet, I’m glad I can keep an eye out for it”

Molly S.

I was amazed DNA gives some insights about personality

“Who knew: DNA gives some insights on personality. It’s early days but I’m pleased to know”

Maddie

Be careful when taking a heart attack drug

“When a doctor told me I had a genetic predisposition to have a side effect to a certain heart attack drug, I was glad to know. Some might say it’s crazy to care but I like ot know”
